Fudgy Protein Brownies
**Vegan & Gluten Free**

As a personal trainer, I love finding alternatives to my clients' favorite "less than healthy" foods.  This fudgy protein brownie recipe is comparable to Ghiradelli's triple chocolate brownies...and no one will ever guess that the main ingredient is black beans!  They are client tested, man approved, and you don't need Betty Crocker skills to make them.  Here's the recipe:

1 15 oz can of black beans (rinsed and drained)

3 Tablespoons of cocoa powder

7 Tablespoons of chocolate protein powder (I used Syntha 6)

1/3 C. agave (you can use honey or maple syrup as an alternative, however, honey is not strictly vegan)

2 Tablespoons of sugar

3.5 Tablespoons of coconut oil

1 Tablespoon pure vanilla extract

1/2 Teaspoon baking powder

1/3 Cup Chocolate Chips

1 Glass of your favorite wine to sip on as you bake (optional)

1. Preheat Oven to 350 degrees

2. Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips in a food processor and blent until smooth.

3.  Stir in chocolate chips, then pour into a greased 8x8 pan.  Sprinkle chocolate chips on top if you want a pretty brownie :)

4. Bake for 16 minutes, allow to cool and refrigerate overnight.  In the morning they will be solid enough to cut and eat.  Enjoy!
